The International Study Tour will be hosted by the IPWEA Director International, Chris Champion. As the Secretary General of the International Federation of Municipal Engineers (IFME), Chris will host one of the more insightful and network-connected tours in recent times. 2018 tour delegates will attend the American PWX Congress & Exhibition in Kansas City.

The cost of the tour for 2018 is $10,000 plus GST per person for shared accommodation. A single supplement is an additional $1,500. If you would like to apply for an IPWEAQ scholarship (up to $10,000) to attend the 2018 International Study Tour, please complete the online application form. 

Upon your return and before 12 December 2018, scholarship recipients must submit a report documenting the tour and visits, their learnings plus recommendations and their applicability to home conditions. The report, between 3,000 and 5,000 words, should include a one-page synopsis and photographs and/or diagrams. 

Scholarship recipients will also be required to deliver presentations at their branch conference, at the IPWEAQ annual conference (Brisbane 2019) and to present at other IPWEAQ events eg the President's Breakfast. Recipients will also be required to provide articles for IPWEAQ's quarterly e-journal, Engineering for Public Works.

Note: the recipient may choose to additionally present at an IPWEA or other conference however the findings must still be presented at an IPWEAQ annual conference as there must be a benefit for the members of Queensland whose mutual funds support the tour.
